Tara Beier

Tara Beier is a Canadian-American singer-songwriter whose bold new album Mourning Doves of Joshua Tree is being hailed as “one of the best albums of the year” (Guitar Girl Magazine). Blending cinematic folk with alt-Americana, Beier’s sound is both timeless and contemporary—deeply rooted in storytelling, healing, and emotional truth. Her haunting voice and poetic lyrics have drawn praise from Rolling Stone, Paste, and Billboard, who wrote: “She’s showing the world that strength, creativity, and motherhood can exist together.” Written in the Mojave Desert while grieving her grandmother and raising twins after a near-death childbirth, Mourning Doves of Joshua Tree is a soul-stirring journey of grief, rebirth, and maternal power. Produced by Steve Stout (Lifehouse), the album channels the spiritual grit of Neil Young and the dreamy intimacy of Mazzy Star. With songs described as “a silent discussion with the listener” (Paste), Beier offers “folk for a new generation—poetic, powerful, and unapologetically personal.” Don’t miss this visionary new voice in folk music, live at Whisky A Go Go on Sept 11.
